VF750 C - Super Magna
plus a few more....
Mike Scotten’s VF750 C also known as the Super Magna is a 1988 model which was imported from the US in 1992. He bought it in the year 2000 coincidentally for £2800. Since then he has added 8000 miles to it, taking it up to 20000.
This model was the second Honda to use their new V4 engine shared with the VF750S Sabre and a few years later a related engine was fitted to the VF750F 'Interceptor'.
He recently has had the bike made ULEZ compliant in anticipation of the proposed expansion of the zone
His wife Annie, sadly no longer with us, used to enjoy riding pillion and joined us on club runs. She had the seat altered for comfort. He uses the bike regularly, often popping down to club nights or Ryka’s. Or even riding around at The Ace Café as pictured here this year.
This isn't Mike - It's Marlon Brando in a scene from The Wild One...but...
Mike tells an amusing story of how back in the day whilst they were looking to buy, she sought the bike out in the Motorcycle Dealer’s showroom. The salesman was more intent on selling them an 850 Suzuki or FJ 1200. But Annie loved the VF750C styling…so the VF it was!
Mike also owns a 1958 Royal Enfield Crusader 250
.. and a Honda PC 50 ...so quite a varied collection.
On our 2023 calendar you may remember him pictured on a Harley Low Rider 2000cc
