Honda 400/4

Known as " OTO " (due to its licence plate)

Current Owner Jude Browne

OTO belonged to an old HOC West London Branch member—Steve Pinder (otherwise

known as Choochi Steve). Steve was a true biker and loved his biking—and he was a

brilliant rider—he loved the IOM TT course. He had a garage full of bikes including an

old Triumph T10 and a lovely red 400/4.

However after an accident test riding a customers bike at work he was off bikes for a

while. He started riding again only to have another accident which left him with mobility

and speech problems (it didn't dull his razor-sharp wit' tho')

His ill health eventually got the better of him in about 2014, and it was left to his best

friend Richie to look after the sale, or otherwise of the garage of bikes.  Knowing that I

loved 400/4’s (I had had 2 previously) he agreed to restore it and let me have it for a fair

price.

Eventually in 2017 OTO came home with me and has been looked after and ridden and

enjoyed.

OTO was first registered in 1976 and has an incredibly low mileage for its age !. It goes

like a rocket but as with all 400/4’s doesn't stop too well.

I had the tank and side panels repainted by Probike Custom Cycles in Abinger Hammer

in a non standard candy red with a touch of metal flake shimmer—but I love the colour it

really complements the bike.

Stewarts Motorcycles keeps it in good working order—proper old school

mechanic—great guy ! https://stewarts-motorcycles.co.uk/

I hope to have more fun on this bike in years to come so watch out for it zapping along !
