The Exhaust and Wiring Loom
The Exhaust and Wiring Loom
One of the things I couldn’t do myself was make an exhaust. This was contracted out to B&Y Engineering at Somerton and took them about a week which considering the high standard of the work, was phenomenal. Because of the CBR swinging arm, I had to have the two rear cylinders routed straight out the back whilst the fronts terminated just under the right footrest. This was a gamble in that I had no idea (as with pretty much everything along the way) whether this would work given this model originally had a four into one exhaust. History has shown that it works very well thank you.
The wiring loom was pared down to the bare minimum to save weight and it was around that time I found out about lithium batteries. A ten pound lighter than standard battery was purchased and is still on there to this day, twelve years later.
